Hi. I’m Richard Huang, a high school student, and this is my personal website.

I like math and computers. I also take photos, and I write. This site is where it all lives.

Here is (briefly) how it’s laid out. The home page at https://richardhuang.net is about me: who I am, what I've been up to lately, a few things I’ve built, and soon, some photos. What you’re now reading is my blog at https://blog.richardhuang.net, titled “richtextformat.” I'll post here whenever I have something to say.

You may notice that every post carries a timestamp in UTC, down to the second. That’s just my personal preference, as I like knowing exactly when a thought happened.

Everything here is mine. I write the posts myself, I take the photos myself, and I run the server this all sits on.

A few things about me, in no particular order. I’m richer-richard on GitHub, and many of my projects usually show up there. In case you’re wondering why there’s a rhino on the home page, that’s because my initials are R.H., and “rhino” also starts with the same two letters, so I put it on the website as my mascot. I like taking photos, especially landscapes. I may not be very skilled, but I enjoy capturing beautiful details in our lives. As of now, though, there are no photos on that page yet. They will be rolling out soon.

The main reason I built this is to meet people. No matter who you are or what you do, I think it’s never a bad idea for us to connect. If something here makes you think or wonder, feel free to email me at hi@richardhuang.net. You can also find me at @richtextformat on Telegram, Instagram, and Threads. Comments are open on every post, so if you have something to say about a specific one, leave it right below. If you’d like new posts by email, there’s a box at the bottom of this page. You’ll get a confirmation link by email. It can take up to a minute, so if it doesn’t show up after a minute, check your Spam/Junk or Promotions folder.

That’s it for now. Thanks for reading, and I’m glad you’re here.
